Our story
Solstice Scenic Walks was founded to share the city we love: Lincoln. Perched on a historic hill and shaped by Romans, Norman conquerors, medieval merchants and modern makers, Lincoln rewards those who wander. Our guides are Lincoln residents with years of storytelling experience and a passion for archaeology, architecture and social history. We walk through time: beneath the watchful towers of Lincoln Cathedral, along the battlements of Lincoln Castle, past the Roman Newport Arch, onto cobbles of Steep Hill and through the independent heartbeat of Bailgate and The Strait. We go beyond the guidebook. You’ll learn how the Magna Carta came to rest in the Castle; why the High Bridge and Stonebow are rare survivals of medieval ambition; how the Brayford Pool powered trade and industry; and where to find the best coffee, bookshops and bakeries today. Whether you are here for a weekend or a lifetime, we’ll make Lincoln feel like your city.
Our routes through Lincoln are planned for curious travellers who want context as well as landmarks. Each experience balances well-known highlights with quieter streets, local stories and time for questions.
Solstice Scenic Walks works with knowledgeable local hosts who keep groups comfortable, explain practical meeting details clearly and adapt their delivery to the pace and interests of the guests.
Every booking begins with transparent information about duration, accessibility, inclusions and price. Private itineraries can be adjusted by agreement before the tour, helping visitors make the most of their time in Lincoln.
